Local first. Share only by choice.
MeowMoment 2.6.0, displayed in Simplified Chinese as 妙啊时刻, has no third-party advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, third-party analytics SDK, or developer account system.
Data stored by the app
The app stores events, categories, recurrence rules, reminders, appearance choices, selected local image copies, tool settings, todos, purchase-entitlement snapshots, and related preferences in its sandbox or private App Group. This information is not sent to a developer-owned server.
Optional private iCloud backup
When you explicitly create or restore a backup, MeowMoment uses Apple-provided private iCloud storage for the supported event, category, reminder, appearance, and tool data in that backup. Your Apple Account controls that storage. Turning backup off does not erase a copy already stored in iCloud.
Feature-specific access
- Camera: Used only while you open the QR scanner.
- Photos: Only items you select through the system picker are read; normalized copies used for an event or widget remain local.
- Motion: Today’s step summary is read only after you open the step tool and is not persisted or backed up.
- Notifications: Event reminders are scheduled through iOS after permission is granted.
- StoreKit: Apple processes purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and restoration. The app reads verified entitlement state.
Network requests you initiate
- Wikimedia Commons: A search term is sent when you search for an online event image; the selected image and attribution page are then requested.
- Open-Meteo: City text is sent when you refresh weather; location permission is not requested for that feature.
- ipify: Your current public IP address is visible to ipify only after you tap the public-IP tool.
- System sharing and support: Content leaves the app only when you choose a destination or send a message.
Advertising, analytics, and tracking
MeowMoment includes no third-party advertising or analytics SDK, does not request tracking permission, and does not track you across apps or websites. Apple may provide aggregated App Store analytics to the developer under Apple’s terms.
Retention and deletion
Local data remains until you delete it in the app or remove the app. Removing an event deletes its app-managed record and related local appearance copy. Private iCloud backup data remains under your Apple Account until replaced or removed through the available Apple and app controls. Files or messages you shared remain under their destination’s control.
Your choices
You choose whether to grant camera, motion, photo, notification, and other system access; whether to create or restore a private backup; whether to query a network tool; and whether to purchase or restore access. iOS Settings controls system permissions.
