Your originals remain yours.

Content the app can process

The app can process photos you capture or select, PDFs, supported DOCX and XLSX files, text, barcode content, and HTTPS file addresses you enter. OCR text, scans, conversions, edits, task state, and language preference are saved in the app’s private container by default.

Permissions and external originals

• Camera permission is requested only after you start a capture or live barcode flow.
• Photos and Files use Apple system pickers and expose only the items you choose.
• MeowScanner does not write to, move, or delete external originals in Photos or Files, or other personal data on the device.

When data can leave the app

• When you share or export, the chosen result is passed to the system destination you select.
• The HTTPS downloader contacts the address you enter; that server handles the request under its own policy.
• Apple provides Translation, camera, Photos, Files, share, preview, and language-pack services under Apple’s policies.
• A support email leaves the device only when you choose to send it.

Purchases, tracking, and analytics

Version 1.1 provides all 37 tools without an account or subscription. The app does not receive payment-card details. It contains no advertising SDK, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics, and its logs do not intentionally record full OCR text, ID numbers, file content, or URL query credentials.

Retention and deletion

• App-managed copies remain until you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.
• Safe cleanup removes temporary exports, staging files, and failed or cancelled jobs that have no saved result reference.
• Deleting an app copy does not delete exports saved elsewhere and never changes an external original.
• Your explicit language selection is kept in local settings and can be changed at any time.

Developer and policy updates

This policy is maintained by independent developer ayqy and will show a new effective date if MeowScanner’s data practices materially change. For a privacy question, email the developer without attaching sensitive documents or credentials in the first message.
